KICS Community Academy started off as the Near South Soccer League (NSSL) and was founded in 2006 as a non-profit, all volunteer youth soccer league to promote a healthy sport environment for children that is focused on equal playtime, fun soccer education and community engagement. In the beginning, our league started with only 50 players from the surrounding Near South area. As our community spirit grew with our participation, there was a need to offer more programs. KICS Development Program (KDP) was created to prepare our recreational players for competitive soccer and KICS Toddlers was created to spark the interest of a budding soccer player. KICS Community Academy is proud to now have over 1000 families annually from South Loop, West Loop, Printer's Row, University Village, Pilsen, Chinatown, Bridgeport, Bronzeville and beyond participating in our Recreational League, KDP/Toddler programs and local events and outings. We look forward to continuing our growth and doing our part to enhance the local community through our soccer organization. Spring Registration Open! Mission Chicago KICS Community Academy gives every child a positive environment to learn the game of soccer and all families the opportunity to help build a sense of community spirit through our three unique KICS programs (Community League, KDP and Toddlers).
