The Franklin Park Panthers is a Tier III (house travel) hockey program. The Panthers participate in the Northwest Hockey League (NWHL) that serves host for over 20 other hockey programs in the Chicagoland area. The two girls teams, the Pink Panthers, participate in the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL) in an all-girls travel league. Please visit the Girls Hockey page to learn more about the Pink Panthers. Traditionally, each division has more than one team at Franklin Park. Teams are organized based on parity and are formed after a 2 hour evaluation per division. Division evaluations are September 13 - 18, 2015 (specific dates/times TBA). Teams are NOT created as A teams or all-star teams and no players are cut after evaluations. The hockey season runs September through mid-Febuary and commences with a league tournament. All teams participate in a tiering round prior to regular season games. Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, and Midget teams begin league play in October and play between 16 and 18 tiering and regular season games. Mites begin league play in December and play 12 tiering and regular season games. Prior to December, Mites are ONLY allowed to play cross-ice or half ice games per AHAI and USA Hockey guidelines.
