I believe to be a tutor there are two critical elements, knowledge and communication. As a tutor, what good is knowledge if you can't share it with the student? To speak to my knowledge, I will explore my background. Throughout grade school I was always ahead of the curve and when I got to high school I was placed in all honors or sophomore level classes. Upon graduation, I had chosen to go to the University of Toledo in Northwest Ohio because my ACT scores and high school grades had qualified me for a scholarship that paid for full tuition and fees. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. Immediately after undergrad, I started the grad program at the University of Toledo and received my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal sciences. I am currently employed at a multi-billion dollar Military Defense company doing structural, thermal, and vibration analysis. My entire professional/educational career would not have been possible without a deep understanding of math and technical sciences (physics, fluid dynamics, calculus, chemistry, statistics, etc.). I have always been a social butterfly, and I work well with others. Throughout my years of schooling I have helped other students. In college, I was a teaching assistant for a few courses and even received the "Outstanding Teaching Assistant" award during my 6th year. I was previously employed at a large private learning center, but left shortly after my WyzAnt career rapidly expanded! My communication skills have always been far above average throughout these endeavors, and I have always succeeded in helping those who have needed it. My methods of tutoring can vary and depend on what is needed. If current course assistance is all that is required, I would love to answer any questions, provide supplemental material and input, and/or help with any homework. If course or test prep is needed I can come up with a curriculum and practice examples to prepare your student for AP tests, ACTs, SATs, or an upcoming course in high school or college.
