The Mt. Prospect Park District Board of Commissioners has established the following principles of intent in guiding the development and operations of the District: Provide quality open land, facilities and wholesome recreation for residents of the Mt. Prospect Park District. Provide safe and environmentally responsible open land, facilities and recreation. Apply fiscally responsible and prudent business practices over assets of the Mt. Prospect Park District. Promote and maintain Community Partnerships. Provide optimum access to all lands and facilities for Mt. Prospect Park District residents. Promote and maintain corporate and inter-governmental relationships. Provide quality employment opportunities at the Mt. Prospect Park District. Mt. Prospect Park District was incorporated in June 1955 and is located approximately 35 miles northwest of Chicago. Encompassing more than 454 acres, the Park District provides recreation programs, facilities and services to portions of Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Des Plaines and Elk Grove Village with a total population of 215,000. Mt. Prospect Park District offers its residents a total of 32 parks and recreational facilities. From a 3-1/2 star golf course to neighborhood playgrounds, pools, fitness centers, ball diamonds, biking and walking paths, the Park District continues to fulfill its mission of providing quality open land, facilities and wholesome recreation for the residents of the District.
