ZION PARK DISTRICT Zion Park District was founded in 1946. The Illinois Legislature has given Zion Park District the particular responsibility of providing and maintaining open space, and of offering recreational facilities and programs for your enjoyment and use. Approximately eight percent of your tax bill represents the park district portion. OUR PURPOSE Whether it’s by offering wholesome programs, activities and special events, by providing enjoyable facilities or by preserving the aesthetic beauty of our community, the sole purpose of Zion Park District is the enrichment of lives. LIABILITY Zion Park District recommends that anyone enrolled in any program, sport or other activity or anyone who uses a park or facility provide their own insurance coverage through their own family insurance program. Zion Park District assumes no responsibility for personal injuries or loss of personal belongings while using Park District facilities or parks. SMOKE FREE PARKS Zion Park District maintains over 752 acres of parkland throughout the city. Please be advised that the Zion Park District has gone smoke free in all parks and buildings.
